As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to unfold, know that we remain committed to the health and safety of our members and their families.
Now, more than ever, it is important that all of us exercise sound judgement based on verified facts, not just rumors and speculation. Please check both of Local 302’s websites, www.iuoe302.org and www.iuoe286.org for the latest communication concerning workplace issues and the corona virus.

For many more of you, your employer has either already taken steps to deal with the pandemic or will be soon. Washington may follow suit with other States who have issued mandatory shelter in place orders.
No matter the circumstances, if you are facing a change in circumstances with your employer, particularly if there is a separation of employment (regardless of whether it is initiated by you or your employer) make certain the reason for the separation is clear to both parties and mutually understood. This will aid in sorting out the variety of economic aids and protections that may be applicable to your situation.
Our shop stewards are our eyes and ears in the workplace. Please make sure they are aware of any changed circumstances or safety concerns you may have. They can reach their Field Representative who can address those issues that arise with your employer.
If you need to take care of other Union business, rather than stop by the Auburn office in person, we ask that you call the Hall instead. The number is 253-351-9095. As always, our office staff will be able to assist you or get you in touch with your Field Representative. We will get through this together.
